Do the promo code coupons in the big JCPenney catalogs ever work?

Everytime I go to the catalog desk of my JCP store and try to use the coupons in the Spring catalog I bought, the associate tells me it does not work. I realize there are a lot of exclusions, one being “value right” items which, from what I understand is stuff that is on sale. But 99% of the items for sale in the catalog are on sale. Do these coupons EVER work?

“Value Right” merchandise does not mean merchandise that’s on sale. It simply means the manufacturers set a low regular price and that merchandise does not go on sale and does not qualify for any coupons.

The only merchandise the promo codes won’t work on is Value Right, Levis, and Furniture.

The registers give you specific reasons why the promo codes aren’t working, so if it happens again just ask the associate why specifically it won’t work.
