Is there any way to pick up the unsold sunday newspapers for free? Id like to stock up on coupons.?

I was born just outside Memphis 77 years ago.
I first saw “gross” coupon clipping from the Commercial Appeal on the corner of Third and Madison where the man selling papers on the corner was removing coupons from the unsold copies (and later he got to removing them from copies before sale as well). This was around 1949.

He was not alone in his little enterprise and for the last 50 years, Newspapers have gotten very uptight about this practice and control coupon distribution very closely.

I suspect you will have a tough time getting more than your fair share of coupons …. unless the little ole guy is out of jail and back on the corner… maybe down toward 700 Union Ave. where Elvis, Gen. Beauregard and I used to hang out.
