Home Again Coupon
Does anyone have any tips for saving money on groceries?
I like to cook at home, and we like to eat pretty healthy. I have tried clipping coupons, but usually all the coupons offered are for boxed foods that we don’t eat. I’m looking for tips on cutting my grocery bill down, but still want to be able to buy the fresh fruits and veggies as well as meats and dairy. Once again, we dont eat frozen dinners or boxed dinners (rice a roni, hamburger helper, etc,).
Coupons are a sucker deal. They are for food that is highly proscessed with tons of chemicals. You don’t see coupons for staples. Staples like beans, grains and vegetables and so on are the healthy choice and more economical. The trick is cooking your food from scratch. One trick that helped me a lot is my garden. There was a time when If I wanted to know what was for dinner it was what was in my garden. Also you will be paying a high premium for fruits and vegtables that are out of season. They have to be shipped in from thousands of miles and of course they are not very fresh. Buying from local growers or farmers is a good way to get fresh vegetables. You might also find someone selling a portion of a beef or pork this way.
