I need to get donations/prizes for the end of the season party! Help?

I am a pool supervisor for the city pools in my town and I am looking to get movie tickets or hit up local restaurants for discount coupons. What type of paper work do I need? Tax exemption?

I don’t think that there is really any paperwork involved. Whatever a business may donate probably doesn’t have that much value to them. If that makes sense. It’s about public relations and free pr at that. I would start hitting businesses up as soon as possible. I think a lot of small businesses budget for charity donations so you want to be first in line. I would go as local as possible because it really is good advertising for them. And possibly offer to promote their business in your company newsletter, if you have one? In this economy, I would think that local businesses need all the help they can get and making a donation to your party would be a small price to pay.
